Baked Cheese Gritscheese/eggs, breakfast 1/2 teaspoon salt 2 2/3 cup water 2/3 cup hominy grits, quick-cooking 2 tablespoon butter or margarine 6 oz american cheese, shredded 2 eggs; beaten 1/8 teaspoon pepper Preheat oven to 350 F (moderate) Grease a 2-quart baking dish. Add salt to water. Bring to a full, rolling boil. Add grits; return to boiling point. Cook, stirring constantly, until very thick, about 6 minutes. Remove from heat. Add fat. Mix cheese, eggs, and pepper. Stir into grits. Pour into baking dish. Bake 40 minutes or until lightly browned.
