Quicker Baked Potato
Try this method for speeding up the potato baking process (for a better texture
than those that you microwave). Pre-heat the oven to 400. Place the potato in
boiling water for 10 minutes. Bake for 30 minutes. This will cut the cooking time
in half.

Fried Mush
vegetables, penndutch
1 single *cornmeal mush
1 single oil
1 single flour
Pour hot cornmeal mush into a well-oiled narrow baking pan and let stand until cold and solid. Cut in thick slices, dip in flour, and fry on both sides on a well-buttered hot griddle until nicely browned. Source: Pennsylvania Dutch Cook Book - Fine Old Recipes, Culinary Arts Press, 1936.
