Quicker Baked Potato

Try this method for speeding up the potato baking process (for a better texture than those that you microwave). Pre-heat the oven to 400. Place the potato in boiling water for 10 minutes. Bake for 30 minutes. This will cut the cooking time in half.

An Excellent Veggieburger

vegetables

1 cup walnuts
1 1/2 cup cooked rice
1 onion
2 tablespoon bacon bits
2 tablespoon bbq sauce
1 single salt
1 single black pepper
1 single garlic powder
1 single flour

Blend the walnuts, rice, bacon bits, BBQ sauce, and spices into a paste. Saut the onions and add them to the mix. Add enough flour so that it forms a workable dough. Shape into patties and sprinkle flour onto the outsides of the patties. Refrigerate for at least one hour. Fry, or grill, or bake (they hold together reasonably well on the grill, only slightly more crumbly than an actual hamburger is.) Serve with extra BBQ sauce on a bun, perhaps with onion, lettuce, tomato, or whatever else you want on it. Makes six. From: narad@nudibranch.asd.sgi.com (Chuck Narad). rfvc Digest V94, Aug. 30, 1994.
